STEP
1 - Put a 1-2"
layer of gravel in bottom of
pot for improved drainage. |

STEP
2 - Fill container
to a level 1/2" below top
rim with a lightweight professional
potting mix that will hold moisture
evenly. Do not use cheap grade
potting soil. Tamp lightly and
refill to same level. |

Fertilize
container plants every
two weeks with a water
soluble fertilizer such
as Miracle Gro, or one
time from the start
with slow-release Osmocote. |

STEP
3 - Remove plants
from the pots they are in
and loosen feeder roots. |

STEP
4 - Remove some potting
mix from container and place
plant with the top of the
root ball level with the soil
in the container. |

STEP
5 - Apply a 1/2"
layer of mulch or spaghnum moss
to soil surface. |
